Catholic-Orthodox Conference Discusses Steps to Unity

This conference was held on Saturday, Feb 5, 2011 at St. Paul’s Orthodox Church in Irvine, CA. Speakers included Fr. Ronald Roberson, Associate Director of Ecumenical Affairs for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and Fr. Thomas Fitzgerald, the Dean of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. Also in attendance were Metropolitan Gerasimos of the Greek Orthodox Church and Bishop Tod Brown of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange.

  2. I enjoyed the slide-show. Can you guess what jumped out at me most (I mean, after the striking picture of you guys at your repast)? That’s right–no iconostasis! When I saw the altar rail, I figured this was a sort of Westernized Eastern Catholic parish, but the sign outside said Greek Orthodox. Very interesting. Wish I could have been there.
